If you are looking for remote beaches, you will find them to the southwest of Calvià, specifically in Portals Vells. There you will find Caló del Rei, Des Mago Beach, Cala de Portals Vells and Cala Petita. Since Portals Vells is located in a natural area, it is quite easy to move from one beach to another, even though each one of these beaches is unique and threatens magical racons full of legends and stories.
Des Mago Beach is known for being the first beach that was officially declared nudist in the municipality of Calvià and whose name harbors a curious story.
A few meters away there is Cala de Portals Vells, where you can see “La Cova de la mare de Déu” an old quarry that was used to extract stone blocks to build the Palma Cathedral and the church of Santa Eulàlia.
In its vicinity there are Caló del Rei and Cala Petita, and a few meters to the north is the sports jetty and on it the tower of Portals Vells, also known as “Torre des Moro” which was built in 1580 and restored in 1631.
