ABOUT
THE TRAIL
A circular and easy hiking route that crosses a great diversity of characteristic landscapes in the area. Along the way, visitors pass through Aleppo pine forests (Pinus halepensis), farmland, holm oak groves, and the natural surroundings of the sa Cova and es Gorg streams, while enjoying wide views over the Calvià valley, Puig de Galatzó, and Mola de s’Esclop.
The route also features important examples of Majorcan rural heritage, such as the Son Vic Vell estate, dating back to the 15th century, and Son Cabot, from 1598, both representative examples of traditional island architecture.
The route begins next to the public parking area in Es Capdellà (Carrer de les Platges). From there, it heads north and, at the first junction, turns west to leave the town via the Ma-1031 road. Shortly after, a dirt track is taken on the left, which turns south into a valley surrounded by pine forests and small agricultural farms.
The itinerary continues crossing the sa Cova stream, joining another path that runs parallel to it until reaching the Ma-1012 road. From this point, the return follows the pedestrian path alongside the road, leading back to the starting point in Es Capdellà.
