ABOUT
THE TRAIL
This circular route, easy to follow and suitable for families, is located entirely within the Galatzó Public Estate in Es Capdellà, combining landscapes, historical heritage, and ethnographic elements.
The route starts at the main farmhouse of the estate and crosses the Comellar de na Llaneres to reach the Sa Cometa spring, a remarkable example of traditional Mallorcan hydraulic engineering, used since Islamic times. Its water was channelled through qanats and underground mines to the estate buildings, supplying them until the 19th century.
During the walk, which takes just over an hour, visitors pass terraced fields, holm oak groves, and pine forests, while discovering ethnographic features such as lime kilns, charcoal pits, and springs. The typical Mediterranean flora and fauna of the area can also be observed.
The route ends by returning through the Bosc de Sa Madona, completing an itinerary that combines nature, history, and cultural heritage.
