Caló d'en Pellisser
Caló den Pellisser (Mallorca) is a beautiful, small beach situated between the family-friendly Santa Ponça beach and the neighbouring Santa Ponça marina.
It is a small, but long, cove, just over a kilometre from the centre of the resort of Santa Ponça. It has all necessary facilities, including free parking in the vicinity, a bus stop at the entrance to the cove, showers and a beach bar, as well as shaded areas.
Its sand is fine-grained and golden in colour. This beach is encased on either side by low rocks. The front line residential houses that have been built around it are camouflaged by pine trees and Tamarells.
It is a beach closely linked to the celebrations of the “King James Festivities” (Festes del Rei en Jaume) which take place, annually, in Calvià during the first week of September. The cove is located very close to the “Cross of the Landing” (Cruz del Desembarco), a historical monument that commemorates the arrival of the Christian troops to Mallorca in 1229. The cove hosts, among other activities of the festivities, one of the traditional battles of Saracens and Christians.
Access by road is easy by just following the signs. Once in the tourist resort of Santa Ponça, take the “Avenida de Rey Jaime I.”
The marine and underwater conditions of this coastal stretch are good for anchoring a boat.
