Between the areas of Palmanova and Costa d’en Blanes is the beautiful and quiet beach of Son Caliu. Located between “es Carregador” and “Punta des Carabiners,” this is a stretch of coastline characterised by beautiful scenery and cliffs.

This beach is divided into three different areas. One is made up of a slope of golden coloured sand, covered in remains of Posidonia. The second, a more urban area with a construction that allows for hammocks and umbrellas. Last but not least, the third, an area of ​​small cliffs between which we can find micro coves that complete the main beach.

The environment that surrounds this beach is of contrasts. We find a more urban part, made up of the hotels in the area, residential buildings and the offer of services and leisure amenities. On the other hand, we find a more rustic area, consisting of pine forest, rocky areas and cliffs.

Reaching Son Caliu beach by private vehicle or public transport is easy. By car, we must go towards Palmanova (Palmanova turnoff on the Palma – Andratx motorway) and from the Palmanova turnoff, head for Son Caliu. By public transport, there are stops near the area.

The marine and underwater conditions of this beach, exposed to the southeast-south winds, make it inadvisable to anchor a boat off its coast.  The nearest port facility, the Palmanova marina (el Club náutico de Palmanova), is 0.8 nautical miles away.
